Taiwan on Monday said that it tracked 18 Chinese military aircraft and 6 naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Sunday to 6 am on Monday.
According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, 11 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
The aircraft also entered Taiwan’s SW Air Defence Identification Zone.
In response, the Armed Forces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.
Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “18 PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. today. 11 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s SW ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.”
Earlier on 14 April, Taiwan detected 18 Chinese military aircraft operating around the nation.
According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, 11 of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
The aircraft also entered Taiwan’s North, Central, and SW parts of Air Defence Identification Zone.
In response, the Armed Forces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.
Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence said, “Overall 18 PLA aircraft in various types (including J-10, Y-8, UAVs, etc) were detected along the SW coast of Mainland China from 1150hr today. Out of which, 11 crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the north, central, and southwest parts of Taiwan’s ADIZ.”
“In conducting joint combat patrol along with PLAN vessels.
#ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces and assets in response to the detected activities,” the post added.
Since September 2020, China has increased its use of gray zone tactics. This includes incrementally increasing the number of military aircraft and naval ships operating around Taiwan.
