S Jaishankar Arrives In Poland To Strengthen India-Poland Ties

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Poland on Wednesday for an official visit focused on strengthening bilateral relations.

India’s Ambassador to Poland, Neeta Bhushan, received him at Warsaw Chopin Airport, the Indian Embassy in Poland said in a post on X.

Jaishankar will likely hold talks with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during his visit. He will then travel to Ukraine, where he is likely to meet his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, for further discussions.

The Ministry of External Affairs said the visit will strengthen bilateral ties and provide an opportunity to discuss regional developments and issues of mutual interest.

The visit builds on talks held in July, when MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George met Polish officials Wladyslaw T Bartoszewski and Michal Baranowski.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade, technology, defence, culture and counter-terrorism.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the talks as reflecting the depth of the India-Poland Strategic Partnership.

India and Poland have maintained steady relations since establishing diplomatic ties in 1954. Their partnership includes high-level engagements and strong economic links, with the Indian Embassy highlighting shared opposition to colonialism, imperialism and racism.

Jaishankar’s Ukraine visit will draw attention given the region’s ongoing security situation.
