Russia’s Strike On Kharkiv Leaves 6 Dead, Dozens Injured

A Russia’s strike on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s eastern city, has killed at least six people and injured 59 others, according to Ukrainian officials.

Russian forces launched the attack from the Belgorod region using guided bombs. The strikes hit five locations, including a 12-story apartment building, Kharkiv regional governor Oleg Synegubov reported on Telegram on Friday.

Among the victims of Russia’s Strike on Kharkiv was a 14-year-old girl, Synegubov confirmed. He also noted that 20 of the injured are in serious or critical condition.

“Occupiers killed a child right on the playground,” Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov said in a statement on Telegram.

Rescue teams and emergency personnel quickly responded to the attack sites, according to the State Service for Emergencies.

A video shared by Andriy Yermak, head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, showed flames and thick black smoke rising from the upper floors of the damaged building.

“Russians hit civilians again,” Yermak stated on Telegram.

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, lies just 35 km from the Russian border, making it a frequent target in the ongoing conflict.
