Russian Foreign Minister Demands UN Security Council Diversification

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on Friday for the United Nations Security Council to be expanded to include more Asian, African, and Latin American countries in order to break what he called Western world domination.

“A majority of the world does not want to live according to Western rules”, the Russian Foreign Minister said at a news conference.

He also repeated Moscow’s accusation that the West, particularly the United States, was attempting to prevent Russia and China from acting freely in a multipolar world.
