Runway Closed After 2 Jets Collide At Japanese Airport

Japanese transport ministry stated that some flights at Tokyo’s Haneda airport were delayed on Saturday after two planes appeared to collide on the ground near a taxiway.

NHK said, “The incident resulted in the closure of one of the airport’s four runways at about 11 a.m. (0200 GMT)”.

Japanese broadcaster showed ground footage of Eva Airways and Thai Airways planes.

The wing of the Thai Airways plane seemed to be damaged, with what appeared to be parts visible near the runway.

The Japanese transport ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
