President Joe Biden on Saturday asserted that during various gatherings, including the G20 summit in India to other international meetings, world leaders consistently express their support for him.
They have emphasized the imperative nature of preventing former US President Donald Trump from securing victory in the forthcoming presidential elections.
President Biden’s remarks came as he addressed a public event during his election campaign in New York.
Biden further stated that world leaders always say that their democracies are at stake.
“Whether it’s the G20 meeting in India or other meetings where there are other heads of state, almost every one of the world leaders finds an excuse to get me alone, put their hand on my arm and say, You can’t let him (Trump) win,” Biden said.
President Biden also highlighted Donald Trump’s statement that he would encourage Russia to do whatever it wants with the countries that don’t spend 2 percent of their GDPs on defence.
Taking a dig at Trump’s foreign policy, Biden said, “It’s not an exaggeration. Think about it. This is a guy who walked away from NATO. He told Putin he could do whatever he wants if they’re not paying their dues.”
Meanwhile, Biden and Trump have emerged as the two presidential front runners in the November elections.
As elections near, Trump and Biden have intensified attacks against each other.
Biden, who travelled with Obama on Air Force One to New York, took part in a discussion with Clinton. Organizers say the event raised more than $25 million for Biden’s US reelection campaign.
