PM Modi had a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and asked for immediate de-escalation and diplomatic measures to restore regional peace in the Middle East.
Taking to X handle, Prime Minister Modi posted, “Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail about the current situation. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability.”
After US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, Tehran urged the UN and IAEA to act swiftly.
Iran condemned the strikes as “brutal US aggression” against its peaceful nuclear program.
In an official statement, the ministry said the attacks violated the UN Charter and international law, placing full responsibility on the US for the ‘extremely dangerous consequences’ of what it termed a ‘great crime’.
