Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday shared a car as they made their way to the venue of their scheduled bilateral meeting.
Following the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit proceedings in Tianjin, the two leaders will likely discuss ways to deepen India-Russia relations, with the Ukraine conflict also on the agenda.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “After the proceedings at the SCO Summit venue, President Putin and I travelled together to the venue of our bilateral meeting. Conversations with him are always insightful.”
Earlier, candid images of Prime Minister Modi in conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Putin surfaced online, showing the leaders sharing a lighter moment on the sidelines of the summit.
The photos showed the three leaders smiling and chatting, evoking memories of a similar scene during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia.
In the latest images, President Putin appeared on the left, the Prime Minister at the centre, and President Xi on the right, walking side by side towards the SCO family photo session.
Posting the picture on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Interactions in Tianjin continue! Exchanging perspectives with President Putin and President Xi during the SCO Summit.”
He also shared another image with President Putin, showing a warm handshake and embrace, captioned, “Always a delight to meet President Putin!”
In another striking moment, the Prime Minister and President Putin were seen walking past Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, engaged in an animated conversation.
Sharif stood apart with a serious expression as the two leaders passed by, during the gathering of SCO member states for their official photograph.
