PIA aircraft
On Sunday, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane flew in Indian airspace for about 10 minutes after failing to land at the Lahore airport owing to heavy weather.
The PIA aircraft PK248 returned from Muscat around 8 p.m. on May 4 but was unable to land at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore owing to severe rain.
According to the report, the pilot attempted to land at the airport, but the Boeing 777 became unstable and could not land.
The pilot launched the go-around approach on the directions of the air traffic controller, during which he lost his course owing to heavy rain and low altitude.
The airplane entered Indian airspace from the Badhana police station at an altitude of 13,500 feet and a speed of 292 kilometres per hour.
After flying 40 km via the Indian Punjab cities of Taran Sahib and Rasulpur, the plane returned to Naushehra Pannuan.
The captain took the plane to a height of 20,000 feet while flying in Indian territory, and the plane stayed in Indian airspace for seven minutes.
The flight then re-entered Pakistani airspace from near the Indian Punjab village of Jhagian Noor Muhammad. The plane subsequently re-entered Indian airspace via the villages of Dona Mabboki, Chaant, Dhupsari Kasur, and Ghati Kalanjar in Pakistan’s Kasur region.
Three minutes later, the plane re-entered Pakistani territory from the Indian Punjab village of Lakha Singhwala Hithar. At the moment, the plane was flying at 320 km/h at an altitude of 23,000 feet.
The plane flew to Multan after entering Pakistani airspace.
The plane traveled 120 km in Indian territory for about ten minutes, according to the report.
