Pakistan: Two Killed, Five Injured In Khuzdar Blast

At least two people were killed and five injured including a woman in a motorcycle bomb blast in Khuzdar City of Balochistan.

As per the police officials, the blast occurred near Umer Umar Farooq Chowk on Sunday.

Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Arif Khan said that the bomb was planted in a motorcycle. It was parked in the middle of a commercial centre.

He further stated that the bodies and the injured were moved to the nearby hospital.

Law enforcers and rescuers reached the spot. As per reports, police have launched an investigation after cordoning off the area.

Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, denounced the explosion. He called it a barbaric strike that targeted innocent civilians.

Bugti vowed to punish the perpetrators of the bombing. He said that security forces will eradicate terrorism in the nation.

Meanwhile, as the law and order of the country continue to deteriorate, blasts, robbery attempts, and killings have become increasingly common in Pakistan. This alarming trend reflects the challenges facing security and stability in the nation.

Khuzdar City is located on the main highway connecting the provincial capital Quetta with the port city of Karachi in neighbouring Sindh province.

Further details are awaited.
