Oorja Akshara Graduates From King’s College London With BA Liberal Arts Honours

Oorja Akshara has graduated with a BA Liberal Arts Honours degree from King’s College London. Her father, Upendrra Rai, Chairman, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network, was present to mark the occasion.

Before pursuing higher education in the UK, Oorja completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, New Delhi, where she excelled in arts and humanities, psychology and Indian classical music.

Oorja has received several academic honours, including a scholarship from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India, for excellence in Indian classical music, as well as a scholarship from the Delhi Sanskrit Academy.

Alongside academics, Oorja has held multiple leadership roles, serving as a Youth Ambassador for the Indian Development Foundation, a Student Representative at King’s College London, and a Disciplinary Panel Volunteer. She also contributed as a choreographer for the 32nd edition of the Indian Performing Arts Show by Kachra Collection.

Oorja actively participates in GirlUp and the King’s College student group, Students Influencing Change – IoPPN.

Oorja is a trained Indian classical vocalist and Kathak dancer, earning several accolades for her artistic achievements, including the Gen-Z Change Maker Award presented by NewsX and BusinessWorld. She also holds two diplomas in Indian classical music and Kathak.

 

Oorja Akshara’s professional experience includes a summer internship with the Skill Council for Green Jobs, Government of India, where she worked as an editor for its quarterly magazine. She also interned with Toprove Foundation, contributing to fundraising and social initiatives.

Oorja Akshara is proficient in Hindi and English, has a strong command of Sanskrit and possesses elementary-level proficiency in French. She is also skilled in leadership, public speaking, strategic decision-making, and content creation.
