According to Dawn News on Thursday, a suicide bombing in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province resulted in at least nine security officers dying and 17 others being hurt.
According to accounts from the police, a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle attacked a security forces convoy in the Mali Khel region.
Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, Pakistan’s acting prime minister, expressed sorrow over the event at the Bannu division. Kakar posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that he was “heartbroken” over the murder of nine brave troops in the Bannu Division of the KPK by a heinous terrorist attack that also injured many people. Such behaviours are abhorrent in the extreme. The families of the deceased and injured are in my thoughts. Pakistan is steadfastly opposed to such terrorism.
This is the second occurrence of this kind in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in more than a month. On July 30, a suicide bomber detonated a device during a political party conference, leaving at least 54 people dead and over 100 injured.
