According to security and medical sources, Israeli airstrikes on two schools in Gaza City have resulted in the deaths of at least 25 Palestinians.
Xinhua news agency reported that the targeted schools, al-Nasr and Hassan Salama, wer hit by multiple missiles.
Medical officials have confirmed the fatalities and reported numerous injuries following the air raids.
The majority of the victims are women and children, as stated by Gaza’s Civil Defence Authority.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the airstrikes targeted Hamas militants believed to be operating within command and control facilities inside the schools.
The conflict between Hamas and the Israeli military, which escalated following a major Hamas attack on adjacent Israeli towns on 7 October 2023, has continued with intense violence.
The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has now reached 39,583, according to Gaza-based health authorities.
