Israel Advocates Persistent Collaboration and Lasting Friendship on India’s Republic Day

In a bilingual post on the social media platform X, Katz extended his respect to Indian External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar, and the people of India, emphasizing the strength of the bond between the two nations.

“My respects to all Indians on the 75th Republic Day,” Katz stated in Hindi, underscoring the enduring friendship and collaborative efforts for shared growth. In Tel Aviv, the Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, marked the occasion by unfurling the tri-colour at his residence in the presence of embassy staff. Given the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the event was attended virtually by members of the Indian community. Singla acknowledged the impact of the October 7 terror attacks and reiterated India’s position, calling for an early and peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.

Singla expressed solidarity with Israel during this challenging time, emphasizing concerns about civilian casualties and the necessity for ongoing humanitarian aid in Gaza. He thanked the Indian community members who volunteered to assist in repatriating those wishing to return to India during the early days of the conflict. Singla also highlighted key visits by Israeli officials and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on industrial research and development between India’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Israel’s Ministry of Defence, focusing on areas such as AI, quantum technology, semiconductors, and synthetic biology.
