Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi issued a stern warning to Israel regarding its recent military actions against Iran. He asserted that the nation will face repercussions for its aggression.
The statement came during a meeting in Tehran with ambassadors and heads of international missions, where Araghchi underscored the need for accountability.
According to a release from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi emphasized that Israel and its allies cannot evade political and legal responsibility for their actions on Iranian territory.
Reaffirming that the country would act decisively but not recklessly, he stated, “Iran has fully reserved its legal right to respond appropriately to such clear aggression.”
Araghchi highlighted the effectiveness of Iran’s military readiness and air defense systems in neutralizing the threat posed by Israeli airstrikes.
He noted that Iran’s armed forces’ prompt and vigilant response prevented significant damage during the attacks, which the Israel Defense Forces characterized as precise and targeted operations in retaliation for alleged Iranian aggression.
Further comments from Araghchi pointed to the United States’ involvement, claiming that Washington has collaborated with Israel in its military actions against Iran.
He indicated that certain European nations are also complicit, framing the situation as a broader geopolitical challenge rather than merely a bilateral conflict.
The recent airstrikes were announced by Israel early Saturday and represent a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations, which have been embroiled in a long-standing rivalry.
Iran’s air defense forces reported successfully countering the strikes, leading to only limited damage according to their assessments.
