Iran President Talks With Saudi Prince On Palestinian-Israeli Conflict

On Wednesday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke by phone on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in the first phone call between the two leaders since a resumption of relations negotiated by China.

Raisi and the Saudi crown prince discussed the need to put an end to war crimes against Palestine, according to Iranian state media.

The Saudi crown prince, for his part, stated that the Kingdom is making every effort to contact all international and regional parties in order to halt the current escalation.

He also emphasized Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of any form of civilian targeting.

After seven years of antagonism that jeopardized Gulf stability and security and fueled wars from Yemen to Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iran agreed to reestablish relations in March under a deal mediated by China.
