India Issues Advisory For Nationals In UAE As Tensions Rise

On Thursday, the Indian Embassy in the UAE released a fresh advisory asking Indian nationals in the country to remain cautious and attentive to official instructions.

“In view of the prevailing situation in the United Arab Emirates and the region, all Indian Nationals currently in the UAE are advised to continue to remain vigilant, calm, adhere to the safety guidelines of the UAE Authorities and also follow official advisories issued from time to time,” the advisory noted.

Indian nationals waiting to travel have been advised to contact their airlines directly for information regarding these special services.

The advisory also stated that the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are continuing their regular operations.

Outsourced centres that handle passport, visa and other consular services are also functioning normally.

The embassy additionally shared helpline contact numbers for Indian citizens who may require support or guidance during the ongoing situation.

UAE Announces Relief for Visa Holders

Authorities in the UAE have announced temporary relief measures for visitors. These measures apply to those who have been unable to leave the country due to the prevailing circumstances.

The UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security announced visa penalties. It said that overstay fines will not be imposed on tourist or visit visa holders whose permits expired after 28 February.

The advisory noted that the Government of India remains focused on the safety and well-being of Indian nationals living overseas.

Separately, the UAE Ministry of Defence reported that its air defence network intercepted three ballistic missiles on Wednesday. It also detected 129 drones on the same day.

Out of these, defence systems successfully neutralised 121 drones, while eight landed within UAE territory.

Authorities also reported that since the start of the Iranian attacks, a total of 189 ballistic missiles had been detected. Among them, 175 were intercepted in the air, 13 fell into nearby waters, and one landed inside the UAE.

Officials further confirmed that eight cruise missiles were also detected and all of them were successfully intercepted.
