India Issues Advisory For Citizens In Israel After Iran Strikes

India on Saturday urged its citizens residing in Israel to exercise maximum caution following joint air operations conducted by Israel and the United States against Iran. The advisory comes amid a rapidly deteriorating security environment in the region.

The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv released an official statement directing all Indian nationals to remain alert at all times. It instructed citizens to comply strictly with safety protocols issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command.

The mission emphasised the importance of staying near designated shelters. It advised individuals to identify the closest protected spaces near their homes and workplaces.

The Embassy also recommended avoiding non-essential travel within Israel until further notice.

Citizens were encouraged to monitor verified news channels, official bulletins, and emergency alerts on a continuous basis.

The Embassy assured ongoing assistance to the Indian community. It reiterated that nationals may contact the 24-hour helpline in case of an emergency.

Officials confirmed that the mission remains in close coordination with relevant authorities and will provide updates as developments unfold.

The advisory follows reports of powerful explosions in Tehran on Saturday. Israel described the action as ‘preventive’ missile strikes targeting Iran.

Local media indicated that several missiles struck locations along University Street and in the Jomhouri district of the Iranian capital.

Thick plumes of smoke reportedly rose near Pasteur Street, an area housing key government establishments. Authorities have yet to confirm the extent of structural damage or potential casualties.

The strikes occurred amid heightened friction between Washington and Tehran over a prospective nuclear agreement.

Analysts warn that the escalation may trigger a broader confrontation across the Middle East.

In response to the unfolding crisis, both Israel and Iran temporarily closed their airspace as a precautionary step.

The situation remains fluid, and further details are awaited.

India’s advisory underscores its concern for the safety of its diaspora in the region.

The government continues to monitor events closely while prioritising the security of its nationals abroad.
