Imran Khan Can Call His Sons: Report

The Official Secrets Act Special Court has granted former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan permission to call his sons till September 15, 2023.

For a long time, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief has demanded to speak with his lawyers and sons.

Sheeraz Ahmed Ranjha, one of Imran Khan’s lawyers, stated that the court had ordered the jail officials to allow telephonic communication between the PTI chief and his sons but the jail officials refused.

Furthermore, Imran Khan’s lawyers were denied access to him at the Attock Jail by the authorities.

Sheeraz Ahmed Ranjha and Gohar Ali, two lawyers, were set to meet with Khan earlier this month.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain issued a notice to Attock Jail Superintendent Arif Shehzad requesting a report on the court order’s implementation.

Furthermore, PTI chairman Khan filed a complaint with the special court against the jail superintendent for failing to comply with its order requiring arrangements for telephonic communication with his sons.

After the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified Imran Khan for making false statements and incorrect declarations, the Toshakhana issue became a major sticking point in Pakistani politics.

The Toshakhana case alleges that Imran Khan did not share information about the gifts he received from Toshakhana during his stint as Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Later, the Islamabad Court suspended Imran Khan’s conviction and ordered that he be released on bail from Attock Jail. However, the special court ordered Imran Khan to be held under judicial remand in cypher case.

The hearing in the cypher case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chief has been transferred to the Attock jail. The law ministry allowed convening the former prime minister’s Cypher case hearing at Attock prison.

Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, was recently called in for questioning in the Toshakhana case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Bushra Bibi has been charged with keeping items from Toshakhana gifts, including a locket, chain, earrings, two rings, and a bracelet.

Bushra Bibi is also charged with hoarding bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets made of gold, and diamonds. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claims that the presents were not given to the Toshakhana for price estimation.
