Hezbollah Rockets Strike Haifa, Israel; Casualties Reported

Hezbollah launched an attack on an Israeli military base near Haifa on Sunday night, resulting in casualties, according to the group’s statement.

The statement asserted, “In response to the targeting of civilians and the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy, the Islamic Resistance launched a salvo of ‘Fadi 1’ missiles at the Carmel base south of Haifa.” It emphasized that Hezbollah would remain vigilant in defending Lebanon and its people.

In response, the Israeli military reported that sirens sounded in the upper Galilee area late Sunday. Approximately 15 projectiles were detected crossing from Lebanon. While some were intercepted, others fell in the vicinity, as noted by Xinhua news agency.

Israeli media reported several casualties due to rocket strikes in Haifa and Tiberias. Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, confirmed that one individual was injured in Tiberias due to a rocket impact.

Additionally, at least eight people were evacuated to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa for medical treatment following the attack.

This escalation follows weeks of increased tensions. Since September 23, the Israeli army has been conducting intensive operations in Lebanon, leading to a dangerous escalation with Hezbollah.
