Hezbollah Attacks Israeli Base With Suicide Drones; Tensions Escalate

Hezbollah has launched a significant attack on an Israeli military base southwest of Safed in northern Israel, employing multiple swarms of suicide drones. The assault has resulted in injuries among Israeli personnel stationed at the base.

In a statement released on Saturday, Hezbollah confirmed the operation: “The Islamic Resistance fighters executed an aerial assault using swarms of suicide drones targeting the Michve Allon base. This base, which hosts a gathering of forces and emergency supplies for the Northern Corps, hit directly, leading to confirm injuries among its officers and soldiers.”

Hezbollah’s attack is reported to be in retaliation for the killing of Hamas official Samer al-Hajj, who was struck by an Israeli drone on Friday at the eastern entrance to Sidon, a city in southern Lebanon. The killing of al-Hajj has intensified the regional conflict and prompted Hezbollah’s response.

In addition to the drone strike, Lebanese military sources, speaking anonymously, reported that Israeli aircraft conducted 10 airstrikes on six villages and towns in southern Lebanon throughout the day. The strikes resulted in injuries to three civilians and the destruction of 18 homes.

The situation remains volatile, with heightened tensions in Lebanon following recent Israeli airstrikes on the Dahieh neighborhood in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The attacks resulted in the death of Hezbollah senior military commander Fouad Shokor. Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has vowed retaliation, further escalating the conflict.

The ongoing clashes and airstrikes highlight the deepening instability in the region, with both sides bracing for further escalation.
