Hamleys Launches First Store In Kuwait; Strengthens GCC Presence

Hamleys, the renowned toy brand under Reliance Retail, has opened its first store in Kuwait, marking its ninth outlet in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

Following successful launches in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, the brand is now accelerating its expansion throughout the Gulf.

Globally, Hamleys operates 187 stores across 13 countries.

A Premier Destination For Toy Lovers

Situated within Kuwait’s popular lifestyle hub, the Avenues Mall, the new Hamleys store further spans 1,170 square metres and caters to children of all ages.

Shoppers can browse over 10,000 toys from more than 100 brands, including favourites such as LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Marvel, Build-A-Bear, Bandai, and Candylicious.

A standout further feature is the energetic ‘Reelyz’ race track, designed to delight young visitors.

Strategic Partnership And Local Sentiment

Sumeet Yadav, CEO of Hamleys Global, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We have been planning to open a store in Kuwait for a long time. This opening at the Avenues is a special and exciting occasion for us. Hamleys has always received an overwhelming response in new markets, and we are confident Kuwait City will elevate this experience to a global level.”

The store opened through a strategic partnership with the Middle East Retail Group.

The grand opening further featured lively festivities, including a vibrant parade within the mall, a traditional bell-ringing ceremony to inaugurate the store, and live performances by children’s favourite characters, adding to the joyous atmosphere and welcoming families to the new Hamleys experience.
