Exiled East Turkistan Authorities Urge Trump To Confront Xi Over Ongoing Xinjiang Genocide

The East Turkistan Government-in-Exile urged Trump to confront Xi over alleged ‘ongoing genocide’ in Xinjiang. It cited abuses against Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other Turkic groups.

Xi will make a State Visit to the US from September 23 to 25. He is scheduled to meet Trump in Washington to discuss bilateral ties, world peace and development, according to China’s Foreign Ministry.

The ETGE urged Washington to ensure that any agreement with Beijing does not come at the expense of East Turkistani people. Trade, artificial intelligence and critical minerals are expected to feature in the talks.

The exiled authorities said East Turkistan holds 30 per cent of China’s onshore petroleum, 34 per cent of its natural gas and over 40 per cent of its coal. They called the region central to China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The ETGE cited military infrastructure, including 110 ICBM silos near Qumul and the Lop Nur nuclear-testing site. It said Beijing is expanding computing and AI infrastructure across the territory.

ETGE President Mamtimin Ala urged Trump to raise alleged human rights abuses with Xi.

Foreign Minister Salih Hudayar said the region’s minerals, energy, trade routes and military infrastructure matter to US strategic interests.

The ETGE called for stronger accountability, enforcement of forced-labour restrictions and release of arbitrarily detained East Turkistanis. It urged Washington to support their “right to decolonisation” and restoration of independence and sovereignty.
