Elon Musk Sparks Controversy With Remarks On Assassination Attempt Against Trump

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has stirred controversy with his recent comments on the alleged assassination attempt against former US President Donald Trump.

Following the incident, Musk questioned why there appeared to be no similar threats against President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

On Sunday, the FBI reported that Trump faced a second assassination attempt when someone fired gunshots near the Trump International Golf Club in Florida while he was playing.

Despite the dangerous situation, law enforcement and Trump’s campaign confirmed that he remained unharmed.

Responding to an inquiry on social media about the motivations behind the attack on Trump, Musk posted, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, a known supporter of Trump, has frequently used his platform to express his political opinions and support for the former president.

The US Secret Service reported that its agents fired on a gunman, later identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, who was hiding in the bushes at the golf course.

Authorities recovered an AK-47 style rifle and a video camera at the scene.

While it remains unclear if Routh fired at Trump, the Secret Service acted to neutralize the threat.

Donald Trump Jr also weighed in on the incident, sharing on social media that an AK-47 found in the bushes close to where his father was leaving.

He posted, “Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. An AK-47 discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement.”

Latest Attack Follows July Incident Where Trump Was Shot In The Ear

This latest attack follows a July incident where Trump sustained a minor injury to his right ear after a gunshot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Security forces immediately killed the assailant.

The White House has confirmed that President Biden and Vice President Harris received briefings on the situation.

President Biden condemned the violence, stating, “There is no place for political violence or for any violence ever in our country.”
