Drone Attack At Airport In Western Russia Damages 4 Aircraft

Officials reported early Wednesday that the Russian military is resisting a drone attack at an airport in the western Russian city of Pskov, where four transport planes were damaged.

On Telegram, Pskov Governor Mikhail Vedernikov said, “The Ministry of Defence is repelling a drone attack on Pskov airport”.

As per preliminary reports, he indicated there were no injuries.

According to emergency services, four Il-76 cargo planes, long the workhorse of the Russian military, were destroyed at the military base.

Tass news agency reported, “Four Il-76 planes were damaged as a result of the drone attack. A fire broke out, and two planes caught fire”.

Russian media broadcasted footage of dense black smoke rising over the airport. They cited reports from locals who reported hearing explosions and shootings.

According to Telegram channels, anti-aircraft systems were active surrounding the city, which is located near the borders of Latvia and Estonia.
