Chinese Man Sentenced To Six Months In Prison For Terrifying Chickens To Death

A Chinese man was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of scaring to death 1,100 Chickens belonging to his neighbor. The odd deed was part of his plan to exact revenge on his neighbor.

Notably, the guy named by his surname Gu and his neighbor Zhong had been at odds since April 2022, when the latter pulled down Gu’s trees without authorization.

According to China Daily, Mr. Gu sneaked onto his neighbor Zhong’s chicken farm and used a torch to frighten the birds, prompting them to kill each other. The torch frightened his chickens, causing them to flee into a corner and die from the crush.

According to Chinese authorities, the 1,100 dead hens have valued at around 13,840 yuan(Rs 1,64,855).

According to China Daily, a court in Hengyang County, Hunan Province, central China, decided on Tuesday that Gu had willfully caused Zhong to lose the property.

The court sentenced him to six months in prison and one year of probation. Mr. Gu received the sentence because he expressed regret for his actions.
