Yoav Gallant, defense minister of Israel, promised to launch a ‘lethal attack’ on the besieged Palestinian territory while referring to the country’s intention to conduct a ground incursion. Israel has increased airstrikes on a number of targets in Gaza since the Islamist group Hamas launched an astonishing attack on October 7 followed by an assault that left at least 1,400 people dead.
“The path is a path of unrelenting attacks, damaging Hamas everywhere and in every way…We want to bring Hamas to a state of full dismantling,” Israeli Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said in a statement.
While the US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak pushed back on the two-state solution amid the long-running dispute over the status of Israel and Palestine, other Western nations endorsed Israel’s ‘right to self-defence’ against Hamas.

For the first time, China recognized Israel’s right to self-defense without denouncing the attack by Hamas. All nations have the right to self-defense, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who also emphasized that nations should uphold international humanitarian law and ensure the safety of civilians.
China underlined its support for a two-state option as a workable resolution to the conflict, joining the US and UK in doing so. Yi made the statement while in Washington, DC. “China sincerely hopes that the Palestine issue will be resolved in a comprehensive and just manner on the basis of the ‘two-state solution,’ and that the legitimate security concerns of all parties will be resolved in a genuine and thorough manner as a result,” Yi said.
As the nation is anticipated to begin a ground offensive, Israeli Defense Minister Gallant declared that his nation will conduct a ‘lethal onslaught’ on Gaza. “We are making careful preparations. It will be a deadly assault. It will be a combined land, sea, and air invasion,” he reportedly said, as per the reports
