“We celebrate with the Syrian people the news of freeing our prisoners and releasing their chains and announcing the end of the era of injustice in Sednaya prison,” said the rebels.

Sednaya is a military prison in outskirts of Damascus detaining thousands and known for extreme torture of prisoners. It is said about the prison that whoever enters it does not leave except to the cemetery.

Moreover, according to rebels they had gained control over key city of Homs only after a day of fighting, that left Assad’s rule dangling on thread.
