The organisers of the Jaina Convention 2025 have transformed Chicago into a global platform for peace and spiritual dialogue.
Themed ‘Unity and Diversity: A Path of Peace’, the convention has brought together saints, scholars, and social leaders from India, the United States, and Canada.
Acharya Lokesh Muni, who is on a tour of the US and Canada, inaugurated the event with a compelling message.
He emphasised that Lord Mahavira’s philosophy of Anekantavada, or the doctrine of pluralism, is vital in the present era of unrest.
He warned of the growing threat of global conflict saying,’ The world stands at a crossroads, facing the danger of a third world war. In such times, the only true path forward is non-violence. Mahavira’s teachings guide us to live harmoniously despite our differences.
Joining the opening session was Swami Gyanvatsal, a renowned spiritual leader and motivational speaker from the Swaminarayan tradition.
His address echoed the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and ethical living.
He said, “Mahavira taught us to honour all viewpoints, while Swaminarayan revealed that moral conduct is the essence of true religion. These teachings are precisely what today’s world requires.”
Swami Gyanvatsal also shared wisdom from his spiritual mentor, “Our Guru Brahmaswami Maharaj always taught that our joy lies in the joy of others, and our progress in the progress of others. This belief guides us in our service to humanity.”
The Chicago convention has not only united members of the Jain community but has also become a centre for promoting universal peace and compassion.
Participants from various countries have come together with a shared commitment to Ahimsa (non-violence) and Karuna (compassion) as the foundations for a better world.
Through this journey, Acharya Lokesh Muni and fellow saints are carrying a timeless message across continents: that peace, respect, and human dignity transcend national and religious boundaries.
Their appeal is clear — if the world seeks a brighter future, the path must be built on the values of non-violence and compassion.
