A Quake Of 4.2 Magnitude Shakes Tajikistan

National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reports that a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred on Wednesday in Tajikistan.

The earthquake struck at 2:56 am (IST), at a latitude of 37.72 and longitude of 72.12.

According to NCS, the depth of the earthquake was 95 kilometres.

National Centre for Seismology (NCS) tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.2, Occurred on 16-08-2023, 02:56:11 IST, Lat: 37.32 & Long: 72.12, Depth: 95 Km, Location: Tajikistan”, through its official ‘X’ handle.

More information is awaited.

Tajikistan was hit by a 4.3-magnitude earthquake earlier in May. The depth of the earthquake was measured at 50 kilometres.
