3 People, Including 2 Soldiers, Killed In A Plane Crashes In France

The army and regional prosecutor said three persons, including two military personnel, were killed Saturday when their light Plane crashed in a hilly region in the south of France.

According to the regional prosecutor, Patrice Cameron, an investigation has been launched to investigate the cause of the crash near the village of Gonfaron in the Var department of southern France.

There were criminal and forensic investigators on the site.

The French army’s southern command stated that two of the three dead were soldiers from the neighboring 2nd combat helicopter regiment training base.

Local firefighters reported they were called out earlier for an aircraft accident that started a fire in the nearby foliage, which was immediately doused.

According to the fire department, the crippled plane was located by water-bombing helicopters.
