2.5 Lakh Diya Light Up To Celebrate Ram Temple Event In Nepal

On Monday evening, devotees ignited 2.5 lakh oil lamps in Janakpur, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, to celebrate the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya.

The ancient city where King Janak, Father of Goddess Sita, once ruled began preparations for the festival weeks in advance. The city is lit up with lamps and colorful decorations to celebrate the son-in-law’s return home.

Local groups launched a campaign to gather all necessary and possible things, including diya, pala, oil, and cotton lamps. In addition, flowers and vermillion powders were used to create a rangoli saying ‘Jai Siyaram’.

Earlier in the day, rallies and celebrations were held throughout the city, as well as the screening of the Pran Pratistha of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Janakpur, the Chief Mahanth along with the Chotte Mahanth had attended the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present during the unveiling of Shri Ram Lalla’s Idol in Ayodhya, and he later led the rites at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in the magnificent temple’s sanctum.
