13 People Die In Argentina A Storm Causes The Roof Of A Sports Club To Collapse

Authorities reported a powerful storm killed at least 13 people Saturday in the Argentina seaside city of Bahia Blanca when the roof of a sports club collapsed.

According to the mayor’s office officials, the severe rains and wind that pounded Bahia Blanca caused the roof of a facility where a skating competition was taking place to cave in.

In a statement, the municipality stated, “Unfortunately, the emergency service confirms the death of 13 people in the Bahiense del Norte club”, adding that firefighters were working at the site where people remained trapped beneath the rubble.

Winds of more than 140 km (87 miles) per hour were recorded in the city, with parts of it losing electricity.
