In the early hours of Sunday, a cargo truck carrying migrants toppled on a highway in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, resulting in at least 10 deaths and 25 injuries, according to local authorities.
According to the report, the tragedy happened close to the Guatemalan border. In less than a week, there had been two deadly crashes involving migrants.
According to an anonymous prosecutor’s office source who talked to AFP, the victims were all women, one of whom was a kid, and appeared to be from Cuba. Between the villages of Pijijiapan and Tonala, on a highway that migrants frequently use to cross the border into the United States, an accident happened.

The vehicle, part of whose body was made of wood, was wrecked, and it was surrounded by the migrants’ clothing, bags, and backpacks.
In the municipality of Mezcalapa, also in the state of Chiapas, a truck toppled on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of two migrants.
