PM Narendra Modi
The Allahabad High Court received a petition demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And other BJP leaders be charged in relation to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
The petition, filed by Khurshid ur Rehman from Aligarh. Challenges previous decisions rejecting his application under Section 156(3) of the CrPC. His application was initially denied by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Aligarh and subsequently by the Sessions Court of Aligarh. The Petition contestes both decision.
The petition refers to an article in the magazine Kamal Sandesh, alleging that BJP leaders conspired to misuse their positions and oaths. To incite violence, riots, and religious discord for their own benefit. According to the petition, BJP leaders promoted the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) through speeches, hoardings, and articles in Kamal Sandesh, which contributed to widespread protests, riots, and violence across the country. This unrest resulted in numerous casualties and damage to public property.
The petition seeks to overturn the Aligarh District Court’s orders and demands the registration of a case against BJP leaders. Including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah. And the publisher and manager of Kamal Sandesh, among others.
