Hardik Pandya to lead team India In the first match against Australia
After winning the Border-Gavaskar Series 2-1, India is now ready to take on Australia. The first ODI between India and Australia will be played on Friday, March 17. During this, a three-match ODI series will be played between the two teams. The first match of the series will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India’s regular captain, Rohit Sharma, will not be able to play in the first match due to family reasons.
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya will be leading Team India from the front. This will be Pandya’s first ODI match as captain. Prior to this, he captained Team India only in T20 matches and has proven his mettle as a T20 captain. Team India has played a total of four T20 series under Hardik’s captaincy, and India has won all four series.
The Indian squad has played a total of six matches in 2023. India has won each of those games while Rohit Sharma has served as captain. It will be quite difficult for Hardik Pandya in this circumstance to uphold Rohit Sharma’s unique record.
