Rain Brings Relief To Delhi-NCR As IMD Forecasts Thunderstorms & Strong Winds

Parts of Delhi NCR experienced light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday morning, bringing much-needed relief from the steadily rising temperatures.

The sudden change in weather offered a pleasant start to the day for residents who had been dealing with increasing heat over the past week.

The India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert, forecasting strong winds, overcast skies, and isolated thunderstorms on April 7 and 8.

According to the department, one or two spells of rain are likely during this period, accompanied by gusty winds that may temporarily lower temperatures.

Weather officials expect partly cloudy conditions to persist on April 9.

Skies will clear between April 10 and 11, signalling a gradual return to warmer conditions across the region.

Maximum temperatures will rise steadily after this brief cooler spell, reaching around 33 to 34 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

An active western disturbance is driving the current shift in weather patterns across north-western parts of the country.

This system is likely to bring increased wind speeds along with a slight dip in temperatures.

Minimum temperatures may fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, resulting in relatively cooler mornings and evenings, offering temporary comfort to residents.

Previously, weather conditions remained stable, with temperatures fluctuating between 21 and 33 degrees Celsius.

On April 7, temperatures will hover around a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 31 degrees.

On April 8, the minimum temperature may drop further to around 18 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remains in the ‘moderate’ category, with an AQI of 134, and will likely stay in the same range until April 9.
