The famous Dandraua Dham Hanuman Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district has received recognition from World Records India for its unique tradition of worshipping Lord Hanuman in both ‘Doctor’ and ‘Sakhi’ forms.
The temple in Mehgaon block, known as ‘Doctor Hanuman Temple’, has earned official recognition as the world’s first shrine where devotees worship Lord Hanuman in both forms.
The recognition followed three months of research and verification by World Records India.
According to temple Mahant Mahamandaleshwar 1008 Shri Ramdas Ji Maharaj, the organisation examined records, contacted the temple’s social media representatives and verified details about its traditions before granting the certificate.
Ramdas Maharaj said the research team found no other temple where devotees worship Lord Hanuman in both Doctor and Sakhi forms.
The team later visited Dandraua Dham and presented the recognition certificate.
World Records India Foundation President Pawan Solanki said the organisation investigated the temple’s two forms of worship through online and offline research, document checks and consultations with priests and experts.
The team visited the temple on Tuesday and added it to its records on Wednesday.
Devotees believe the temple’s sacred ash, or bhabhuti, helps treat serious illnesses, including cancer.
Solanki said the team heard devotees share personal accounts of improvement, including one person with a tumour. These claims remain personal beliefs and do not establish any medical benefit of the ash.
