Delhi Weather Update: Rain, Lightning And Gusty Winds Likely Today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has once again placed Delhi-NCR under a yellow alert, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate showers across the region on Friday.

Officials indicated that the changing weather conditions could lead to temporary disruptions in transport, outdoor events, and everyday activities.

At the same time, the expected spell of rain and cloud cover is likely to ease the impact of the intense summer temperatures experienced in recent days.

Forecasters estimate that the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR will remain around 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover near 26 degrees Celsius.

The weather agency has predicted intermittent thunderstorms and light rainfall during different parts of the day, including the morning, afternoon, and late evening hours.

Strong winds accompanying the storms may result in fallen branches, damage to fragile structures, and slower traffic movement on key roads.

Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors whenever possible during severe weather and avoid open areas during lightning activity.

Meteorologists expect similar weather conditions to persist on June 6, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several areas.

Meteorologists expect temperatures to range between 26 and 36 degrees Celsius. The IMD has not issued any weather alert for that day.

Forecasters expect weather conditions to improve after June 6, and clear skies are likely to prevail across the region from June 7 onwards.

Temperatures are likely to rise gradually, reaching approximately 39 degrees Celsius on June 7 and around 40 degrees Celsius on June 8.

The IMD forecasts clear skies on June 9 and June 10 and expects daytime temperatures to reach 41 degrees Celsius while keeping overnight temperatures around 28 degrees Celsius.

Residents Advised to Stay Alert

Weather experts believe the incoming spell of rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds will offer welcome relief from the prevailing heat across the National Capital Region.

Authorities have encouraged residents to monitor official weather bulletins and follow safety advisories as conditions evolve.
