Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in the national capital increased by Re 1 per kg on Saturday, marking the third revision within 10 days.
According to Indraprastha Gas Limited, the retail price of CNG in New Delhi has risen from Rs 80.09 per kg to Rs 81.09 per kg.
Prices in nearby cities have also gone up, with CNG now costing Rs 89.70 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, while Gurugram rates have climbed to Rs 86.12 per kg.
The latest revision follows a Rs 2 per kg increase announced on May 15 and another Re 1 hike on May 17.
State-owned oil marketing companies also increased petrol and diesel prices on Saturday, marking the third such hike in around 10 days.
Petrol prices were raised by Rs 0.87 per litre, while diesel became costlier by Rs 0.91 per litre.
The increase comes amid sustained pressure from rising global crude oil prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
In Delhi, petrol prices rose from Rs 98.64 to Rs 99.51 per litre, while diesel prices increased from Rs 91.58 to Rs 92.49 per litre.
The price revision has impacted several major cities across the country.
In Kolkata, petrol prices climbed to Rs 110.64 per litre and diesel to Rs 97.02 per litre following the latest hike. Mumbai also witnessed sharp increases, with petrol prices reaching Rs 108.49 per litre and diesel touching Rs 95.02 per litre.
The rise in CNG prices will likely impact transport operators and commuters dependent on gas-powered vehicles, potentially increasing household expenses and logistics costs.
Earlier this month, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said India had managed to limit increases in petrol and diesel prices despite a sharp rise in global crude oil prices.
