Vodafone Idea Confirms 5G Rollout In Delhi From 15 May

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially confirmed the launch of its 5G services in Delhi from 15 May 2025, following previous rollouts in Mumbai, Patna, and Chandigarh.

The company aims to bring high-speed connectivity to additional cities, including Karnataka, by August this year.

Although Vi has lagged behind its competitors in deploying 5G across India, it appears to be accelerating efforts to bridge the gap.

As part of this push, Vi has unveiled a dedicated website highlighting its 5G features, prepaid and postpaid plans, and coverage areas.

Unlimited 5G Data Across All Plans

Vi’s 5G offerings stand out by providing unlimited data across all prepaid and postpaid plans, ensuring seamless and high-speed Internet access.

Currently, users can check 5G availability only in Mumbai, Patna, and Chandigarh, but Delhi and Karnataka are next in line to go live.

Prepaid Plans: Starting At ₹299

For prepaid customers, Vi offers a range of plans starting from ₹299, which includes 1GB of daily data for 28 days. Additional options include:

  • ₹349 plan – 1.5GB/day
  • ₹365 plan – 2GB/day

For long-term users, Vi’s premium prepaid plan costs ₹3,599, offering 2GB of daily data over 365 days.

All prepaid plans include unlimited 5G data, making them an attractive choice for high-data users.

Postpaid Plans: Four Flexible Options

Vi has also introduced four postpaid plans, under the Vi Max banner:

  • Vi Max 451 – ₹451/month with 50GB data
  • Vi Max 551 – ₹551/month with 90GB data
  • Vi Max 751 – ₹751/month with 150GB data

These plans come with introductory unlimited 5G data, though Vi has indicated this may be a limited-time offer.

Interestingly, Vi remains the only telecom provider in India offering unlimited 5G broadband on plans below 2GB/day, further distinguishing its packages in a competitive market.

5G Compatibility And Device Support

Vi confirmed that all smartphones released in India after 1 January 2020 support VoLTE, and most devices launched over the past two to three years are compatible with 5G networks.

Users can verify whether their device supports Vi’s 5G service via the operator’s official 5G website.

As Vodafone Idea prepares to expand its 5G footprint, the rollout in Delhi marks a significant milestone for the company.

With competitive pricing, unlimited data, and wider compatibility, Vi is positioning itself as a strong player in the evolving Indian telecom landscape.
