Nissan is to unveil the much-anticipated Tekton, their stunning new midsize SUV, on July 9, 2026. The SUV’s bold front design earns it the nickname ‘Baby Patrol’ and positions it to make waves in the market.
The SUV shares its CMF-B platform with the Renault Duster, combining rugged styling with multiple engine options.
The lineup starts with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 100 horsepower, coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission.
For more power, there is a muscular 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing a whopping 163 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. One can get it with either a 6-speed manual or a fast-shifting 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
A highly efficient 1.8-litre strong hybrid variant is also expected to join the ranks later down the road.
The cabin emphasises premium comfort with a multi-layered dashboard, elegant copper trim, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen for seamless smartphone connectivity, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
The package features a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). This aggressive packaging puts the Hyundai Creta squarely in the Tekton’s crosshairs.
The Creta remains the benchmark for comfort and urban appeal, but the Nissan Tekton could emerge as a game-changer with its rugged design, a more powerful turbo variant, and an expected starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh.
