Indian consumer technology brand MIVI will enter the smartphone market with its first handset, the MIVI One 5G, on September 24.
The Hyderabad-based company, known for its earphones, speakers and other audio products, will sell the smartphone exclusively through Flipkart.
MIVI has confirmed a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G mobile platform for the One 5G, although the company has not yet disclosed the exact chipset.
MIVI also plans to manufacture the smartphone in Hyderabad, strengthening its focus on domestic production.
Design and Storage: MIVI has revealed three colour options for the One 5G — Burgundy, Blue and Green. The phone will offer 128GB of internal storage.
Promotional images show a dual-camera setup on the rear, along with two large camera rings and an LED flash. The handset also appears to feature a flat frame and rounded edges.
Expected Specifications: MIVI has not revealed the complete specifications yet. However, several reports suggest that the phone could feature a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, up to 8GB RAM, a 120Hz HD+ LCD, a 50MP primary camera and a 6,000mAh battery.
These specifications remain unconfirmed, so buyers will need to wait for the official launch for final details.
Reports also expect MIVI to target the sub-Rs 15,000 segment. The company has partnered with Qualcomm, Google and Flipkart for its entry into the smartphone business.
The MIVI One 5G represents a major expansion for the homegrown brand as it moves beyond audio products and enters India’s highly competitive smartphone market.
The September 24 launch should reveal its exact processor, camera setup, battery, charging capabilities, RAM variants and official price.
