iPhone Air Gets Cheaper: What The Latest Price Cut Means For Buyers

Apple’s iPhone Air, launched alongside the iPhone 17 series, has received a notable price reduction, reigniting debate over its value proposition.

Originally priced at ₹1,19,900, the device is now available on major e-commerce platforms for close to ₹1 lakh, making it significantly more affordable than at launch.

The revised pricing raises a key question for buyers: Does the iPhone Air make more sense than other iPhone 17 models at this new price point?

Online listings currently show the iPhone Air at ₹1,12,900, reflecting an upfront reduction from the original retail price.

Buyers can further lower the cost using platform coupons, which shave off an additional ₹8,000. Credit card offers reduce the price further, bringing the effective cost down to approximately ₹1,09,900. In total, this represents a reduction of nearly ₹19,000.

The iPhone Air stands out as the most visually refined model in the iPhone 17 line-up. Featuring a slimmer profile than any previous iPhone at just 5.6mm, it delivers a distinctly premium look.

Unlike the aluminium construction seen on other models, the Air positions itself as Apple’s most elegant smartphone currently on offer.

Under the hood, the iPhone Air runs on the same A19 Pro chipset found in the iPhone 17 Pro. This ensures top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking and long-term software support.

With the Pro model priced significantly higher, the Air delivers similar processing power at a considerably lower cost.

Battery endurance is one area where the iPhone Air trails behind. While it can comfortably last a standard workday, it does not match the battery performance of the iPhone 17 or Pro models. Users who prioritise long screen time may find this limiting.

The phone’s single-speaker setup is another drawback. Without stereo speakers, audio output can feel underwhelming, particularly in noisy environments or during media consumption.
