Google Pixel 11 Gets 7 Years Of Spare Parts Support – Here’s Why It Matters

Google has confirmed that its Pixel 11 series will receive seven years of spare parts support, matching the company’s seven-year software update commitment.

The announcement came during the Pixel 11 launch in India and applies to all markets where the phones are available.

The extended parts support means Pixel 11 users should have better access to replacement components if their phones develop hardware problems during the seven-year support period. This could include essential parts such as batteries, displays and rear covers.

Google first introduced a seven-year spare parts commitment with the Pixel 8 series in 2023.

The company has now continued the policy with the Pixel 11 range, strengthening its focus on long-term device support.

Long-term access to replacement parts could prove particularly useful for batteries.

Google rates Pixel batteries for around 1,000 charging cycles before they lose about 20 per cent of their capacity.

Depending on usage, users could notice reduced battery life after several years, making battery replacement important for those who plan to keep their phones for the full seven-year period.

The policy could help users repair accidental damage years after purchasing the phone.

Access to replacement screens and rear covers could allow owners to repair damaged devices instead of replacing them entirely.

The Pixel 11 family brings Google’s latest Tensor G6 processor and new camera features alongside the seven-year software update policy.

By extending spare parts availability for the same period, Google aims to make long-term ownership more practical.

The move could encourage other smartphone manufacturers offering lengthy software support to extend their repair and spare parts commitments, giving consumers more options to keep their devices for longer.
