Can Your Phone Handle Pro Video Editing? Adobe Premiere Says Yes

Adobe has expanded its Premiere mobile video editing app for Android, giving creators access to professional-level editing tools directly on their smartphones.

The app is available on the Google Play Store for devices running Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM.

Premiere offers a multi-track timeline that lets users layer video clips, music, voiceovers, text, and effects within a single project. It supports frame-accurate editing, creator-made templates, transitions and creative assets from Adobe Stock.

One of the major features is Enhance Audio, which can reduce background noise and improve the clarity of interviews, voiceovers and other recordings.

Users can edit and export videos in resolutions up to 4K.

Adobe says the free app provides watermark-free editing and does not require users to create an Adobe account to edit, save projects locally or export videos.

Adobe has included Firefly-powered generative AI features, including Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and AI-generated sound effects.

These generative features require Firefly credits, while the core editing tools remain free.

Adobe plans to add more features, including enhanced captions, keyframes, beat detection and continued editing between mobile and desktop Premiere.

The Android launch expands Premiere’s reach to millions of mobile creators and gives users another option for producing high-quality social media videos directly from their phones.
