Can Lava Shake Up The Budget Market? Virat V1 5G And Virat V1 Are Here

Lava has introduced two new budget smartphones in India, the Virat V1 5G and Virat V1, as the homegrown brand looks to strengthen its presence in the highly competitive entry-level segment.

Developed in partnership with Flipkart, the new lineup targets first-time smartphone buyers, students and young professionals seeking dependable performance without a premium price tag.

A key highlight of the Virat V1 series is its clean Android experience.

Both devices ship without pre-installed bloatware and come with Lava’s free home service, a feature the company continues to offer across its smartphone portfolio.

The Lava Virat V1 5G is priced from Rs 11,999, while the Lava Virat V1 debuts at a special launch price of Rs 8,999.

Both smartphones will be available from July 31 through Flipkart and Lava’s official online store.

The Virat V1 5G features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the UNISOC T8200 processor. It packs 4GB RAM with virtual RAM support, 64GB of internal storage, and a 6,000mAh battery.

The handset also includes a 13MP AI dual rear camera, a 5MP front camera, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and runs on Android 16.

The standard Virat V1 offers a 6.75-inch HD+ display, UNISOC SC9863A chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and the same 13MP AI dual-camera system. It also carries an IP64 rating and delivers the same clean Android software experience.

With aggressive pricing, large batteries, 5G connectivity on the higher-end model and a clutter-free software experience, the Virat V1 series reflects Lava’s strategy to compete more aggressively in India’s value smartphone market.
