Ahead of its October debut, EA hosted a livestream revealing ‘Battlefield 6’s’ open beta dates and major gameplay improvements.
The open beta will occur in two phases during August, providing eager players a chance to test new multiplayer features.
Battlefield 6 reintroduces the traditional four-class system: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, each with unique gadgets, weapons, and abilities to suit varied play styles.
This marks a return to the franchise’s roots after mixed responses to Battlefield 2042’s specialist system.
Players can engage in popular modes like Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough, along with Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.
A new addition, Escalation, tasks teams with capturing and holding key map zones under time constraints, bringing a strategic edge to battles.
A major new feature, Tactical Destruction, enables players to alter the environment, blasting through walls, collapsing buildings, or creating makeshift cover from rubble.
Combined with the Kinesthetic Combat System, players can expect smoother movement and more responsive gunplay.
Nine multiplayer maps will feature in the launch version, with settings such as Siege of Cairo, Empire State, and Manhattan Bridge.
New mechanics like Drag and Revive allow players to pull fallen allies to safety, and a Mount Weapon option provides stable firing positions during combat.
The game requires at least an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor with 16 GB of RAM. It also needs an NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card to run smoothly.
Players need 75 GB of storage and Windows 10 (64-bit) with DirectX 12 support. Minimum performance aims at 1080p, 30 FPS on low settings.
Battlefield 6 will launch in two editions. EA has priced the Standard Edition at $69.99 (₹3,999) and the Phantom Edition, which includes bonus content, at $99.99 (₹5,999).
Pre-orders are live on EA’s official platform.
Battlefield 6 blends classic elements with modern enhancements. It aims to restore the franchise’s reputation and deliver intense gameplay.
The August beta will be critical in building momentum ahead of its full release this October.
