WTC Final- It was a great day to play cricket at Surrey, the place that will play host to the final of the World Test Championship. The sun was out, everyone seemed to have opened the sunroofs of their car, the cyclists were out in force as well and a few of them were hunting for Team India autographs just outside The Oval… it was neither too hot, nor too cold. Precisely the kind of conditions that bring the best out of the batters, the bowlers, and perhaps the fans too.
The cricket, however, needed to pause. It wasn’t yet time. The date, June 7, is nearly upon us. The World Test Championship flags are displayed at the location. The pitch looks green, and the groundsman was providing it with a good feast of water before the covers were placed on late at night. The ground is still being finished, but when India and Australia play in June, The Oval will be ready to host its first Test.
Although there doesn’t appear to be any buzz at the moment, it will undoubtedly develop. This location is considered neutral by the International Cricket Council, but when India is involved, can any location remain neutral? Starting from the earliest stage of the pitch conditions viewpoint, it very well may be. Be that as it may, there is just one group that will return.
They were all there when India held a net session. It wasn’t like the almost ubiquitous optional nets session, where almost no one showed up. From the occasion to acclimatization, the squad was out in full force for a change, from getting a good workout worthy of a Test to competing for spots in the playing XI.

In the IPL, net sessions are frequently held almost exclusively for players who are unable to make the starting XI. Those who play are either too worn out or have to prioritize their work. Thus, the main genuine practice they get is in the actual match. That is good practice, but it prevents you from simply playing.
