Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and wrestler Sangeeta Phogat shared a delightful moment during the wrap-up party of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which went viral on social media. In the video, Phogat playfully lifted Chahal on her back and spun him around, prompting Chahal to jokingly ask her to stop as he felt dizzy. Chahal’s wife, Dhanashree Verma, is among the five finalists in the dance reality show, and Chahal had previously urged fans to vote for her.
Meanwhile, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra expressed surprise at Chahal’s exclusion from the BCCI’s central contracts. Chopra noted that while the omission of players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, and Deepak Hooda could be understood, Chahal’s absence signifies a shift in the selection committee’s approach. Chopra speculated that this move indicates the board is exploring alternative options.
The out-of-favor duo of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were also left out after failing to comply with the directive to participate in the Ranji Trophy. However, captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli retained their positions in the top bracket of centrally-contracted players.

Kishan, 25, chose not to represent Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy despite being available since returning from the tour of South Africa in December, citing personal reasons. Instead, he focused on preparing for the upcoming IPL season.
On the other hand, Iyer did not make himself available for Mumbai’s Ranji quarterfinal against Baroda after being dropped from the Indian team following the second Test against England. However, he has been selected for the Ranji semifinals beginning on March 2nd.
